I think there's a reaction to the introduction of tech and driver aids in many of the newer 4x4. I was watching a video yesterday where committed Land Rover owners said they would rather buy older Land Rovers in preference to the newer ones due to older trucks being easier to work on when in the wilderness. There's probably a price issue going on as well, similar age Land Cruisers and Pajeros (I wouldn't be seen dead in a Pajero for obvious reasons) are going for twice the money.

But we all knew what was the best choice all along, didn't we?

Me and a couple of mates subscribe to Autoexpress used to be Top Gear. I pay a third of the subscription and as its my direct debit I get first read then handed on a week later, last to get it keeps it so it works out ok.
