Other forums
I dont go on any other forums just this one. I dont even even go on facebook that often. But since I got the bike I joined a forum for ex pat motorcyclists over here, and it's rather bizzar. There's no fee to join, just donations, but you have to have made 4 posts to access this and 10 posts to access that. And the strangest thing of all is your post's dont go active strait away, they have to be approved by a moderator first !, Now that's power
Just made me think what a free and easy forum this is where every body is trusted to act a appropriatly, hardly any need for the mod's |

I run a couple of forums, and since Tapatalk started taking off, you need to make a lot more decisions regarding new members, as tapatalk has the ability to bipass a lot of the joining critera.
Even on a minority forum like our ferret ones, we average 5 spammers a day that would join and flood every topic with their drivel until we put in safe guards. All forums have their own way of dealing with, and trying to stop spammers and know trouble makers, and in your bikes forums case, that is a good way to pick the spammers up before they annoy the users, but makes a lot of work for the mods on a busy forum. jWe tend to self moderate, we like a joke, well not all of them lol, some dirty jokes etc, but we remind each other this is a family forum. We rarely have swearing, and if an odd word is said, we do have a quiet word, "Not on this Forum old chap " lol... we get away with pi** off etc and I think the forum is better off with out them, if we put in print every word that we shouted when that wrench slips off that sheared bolt... yes even I have said a chosen word or three.
Ohh dear, the bolt sheared, I can see some blood running down my hand old chap... Why say that when just two words will do lol... The Forum, as said before, will not tolerate the word L*** R***** in full, unless of course it's a joke, or a breakdown, or an oil leak, which when you think about it... most of them are lol... We (often me lol) also jump on anyone taking any risks, either to their health, or anybody elses. Uncle Rustic
