hi everybody seasons greetings just wanting to link up with other owners of this fine beast,i,ve been well and truly credit crunched so just want a few contacts for bits for it as it seems to be abit like hens teeth .why were,nt they more popular in this country?,it just needs a few cosmetic bits cos i want to make it look pretty ready for hauling a hefty caravan around.

Hi there Monster - whereabouts in South Yorks are you, we've a few members that way.

The R3M was never sold officially and importers don't seem to have brought many in - must say I quite fancy one myself.

Were hoping to have Yorkshire mini meet before xmas and theres a green laning run in North Yorks onthe 28th if you're interested.

firstly they are ugly compared to other trucks of that era. for me they make a lada or a g wagon look modern.

now i think the g and the lada are both ugly too. but you cant knock them for off road performance.

the day i saw one last week i was told it was for sale and id get it for a couple of hundred mot'd and taxed

i didnt buy cos i knew nothing about them. thats why i asked if they had good points, cos i was interested in case they are any good and its still for sale.

so yes id buy one if they were any good, even if i do think they are ugly

its not as though i havent chatted an ugly girl up before

They do come in different body styles, the early one are Terrano 1's and yes they are pretty ugly but the later ones are american Pathfinder style and are pretty good looking in my opinion - theres very very few of the early ones around, more of the later ones.

TBH the newer one looks a bit like a surf from the front end  There is a guy up the road from me who has the earlier model but you could never take it off road because it has a really low body kit on it 8O

I like the look of both models...in fact I prefer them to my Terrano!

On a similar subject I hate the name Nissan Terrano, it just sounds so impotent...whereas the Ford Maverick sounds so right!

Before anyone takes offence look at my profile..I own a Terrano but used to have a Mav.
