TapATalk
Ive noticed quite a few people seem to be using tapatalk app. What do people think about it these days, been discussed but quite a while ago now.
I get an annoying message on my phone when I access this site regarding this app. Seems to almost make out that this site reccomends using it but does stop short. |

I use it, pretty good if you set it up right. notifies me if someone replied/quotes me, other than that it sits there nice and quiet but its easy to access the site and read the content.

I find it very good, especially if you go onto multiple forums. As already said, you just need to spend a few mins setting it up.
When a forum administrator integrates it into their forum, there is an option to allow it to prompt users to download the app when ever they log on, so it's not really a case of recommending it, but making it easier for the members to know about it. If a member says no to downloading it, it should set a cookie so it does not keep asking you, but many smart phones don't save the cookie, so the next time you connect, it asks you again. I think the only downsides are, once in a thread, you have no idea of the title of the thread, which can be a pain if there is some vital info in the title, that is not re-mentioned in the post. You have no idea of which part of the forum the threads are posted in, so again, if they post it in "Terrano" "Engine and running gear" you can not tell this. Another thing is, you do not get the side bar with the info on the person who wrote it, so have no idea where they are, etc, which can be a pain if they are talking about something that is location related. |
