Heartburn/ acid reflex
So I used to suffer bad with this for many years, I am now on tablets to calm the acid in my stomach.
One thing that triggers me badly is garlic bread... Guess what was for diner today Not having any rennies or tums about I decided to search the net for a home remedy, the only thing we had to hand was mustard.. I was sceptical about trying this, but alas, it has worked incredibly well Just thought id share incase any of you chaps know the woes of heartburn/indigestion |

Here's a quote from a website It is believed that mustard stops excess acid production. Quite contrary to popular belief, the efficacy of mustard is not due to its sodium…but due to its vinegar content. Mustard is an alkalizing food that contains acid (vinegar). However, the acid is very weak making it one of the least acidic foods that you can eat. Consuming one tsp mustard cures heartburn in a few minutes by neutralizing acids in the stomach (it helps to lower the pH level of the stomach acid) and by preventing the stomach from producing any extra acid. When an antacid is combined with it… you are sure to get the benefit. However, there are cases where mustard might not be the ideal remedy for you and might only aggravate the symptoms of heartburn! Also, if your symptoms are severe, mustard might not be the right choice for you! So it is best to try it once or twice before you decide to stick to it! |

You should change the title to Alex's home remedies
Now we got told about this & TBH didn't think it would work but it does very well if you've got a cough put 1/2 a raw onion into a jar of honey & leave it over night in the fridge then take 1 or 2 tea spoons like you would with a normal cough mixture as needed not great for diabetic's tho so i've never tried it myself but it work great on the Mrs & the kids |

I like crusty bread but will only eat it during the day - not at night as the crust that is glazed with fat gives me acid reflux despite being on Lanzaprole. My sure fix is Alka Salzer but its a high dose of Asprin so its only an occasional fix. |

I get acid reflux with certain foods, late eating can trigger it, or bending too soon after eating.
What does me, is anything with corned beef in, it could be the fat content. Unfortunately curries like madras do it, unless I eat them 3-4 hours before bed time. Gone were the days of a few pints and a late curry then bed. I have even eaten a complete fry up, egg chips beans and bacon at 2:00 am from our local transport cafe, those local to me will know Greasy Lils on the A5 near J12 on the M6 lol then to bed and up at 6:30am for work...never any acid reflux. Sorry not any more. You want to watch acid reflux, it can aggravate the oesophagus, and that can lead to quite some nasties...
