There's nothing wrong with sex.
Having sex every day. Saving sex for your wedding night. Never having sex. Having sex with different people.... Having sex with one person. Having sex with a person of your same gender. Loving sex. Hating sex. Being loud. Being quiet. The only thing wrong with sex? When it’s not consensual. Because that’s not sex. That’s rape. |

Just going to stick my head over the fence a minute.
I was once a young man. I was often pissed, stoned, high or tripping my socks off. At many a student party I may well have "slept" with girls way over 2.5 units of alcohol down their throats. Gone home sometimes from strange beds and houses I don't "think" I was a rapist , but then I wasn't exactly there all the time We only have the media's hand me downs on the actual events of this "rape". I'm in no way defending him but just re-reading some comments on here I'm just saying we're not all angels. As for Jed , he can't go abroad until he's off licence I think. He's done his time and now needs to get a job doing something that'll help him grow up and move on. Preferably not in public. Carry on |

I work with a semi pro footballer and he thinks he is God's gift to women. Arrogant and full of himself. Can't walk past a mirror without checking himself. Don't think he will last long at our place as he has a talent for getting people's back up. |

Its also expressed as 40 microgrames of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (Drink drive limit is 35 but they only prosecute at 40 and above). There is no direct equivalent relationship between units of alcohol stated on a bottle of beer or wine and what appears in your breath or bloodstream. The reason being it depends on an individuals ability to absorb alcohols and for the body to break it down via the liver etc. Factors such as stomach contents, an individuals actual total blood capacity and digestive metabolism all make this guesswork.BMI is also a factor. There are guidelines about the relationship between units of alcohol consumed and the likely levels in your bloodstream but its only a guide . In my experience as a former Custodt Sergeant if someone is 2.5 times the drink drive limit that's an Evidential Intoxilyser Machine reading of 100 mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath that's well and truy drunk in common parlance. The Intoxilyser Machine used in Police Stations is out of range at a reading of 200 that's getting close to fatal alcohol poisoning levels for some people. When I had my Police Training for the old LIon Intoximeter we had a course where in the evening different students drank various amounts of acohol in the Police Bar and we tested ourselves on the machine afterwards. We were actually quite surprised that one student failed the test after drinking just 2 Pints of Beer yet another passed the test after 3 double Whiskys. Most people would stuggle to be coherent at 2.5 times the limit unless you were a heavy everyday drinker. Certainly walking in a straight line woud be difficult ! I personally would be close to unconscious / sleep at that level but I never drink more than 2 pints in an evening out so my tolerance level is quite low. |

The photo gallery of a man who loves sport, children and animals. So how come this bloke with an attractive partner goes out to get drunk with his mate and share a girl who is drunk and has drugs in her body ? I note there is an invitation for feedback in support of his innocence but no forum for those who are critical of his conduct. It's a change of subject but it made me think of the following. For those of us who are old enough to remeber the James Hanratty trial (and hanging) for the rape of Valerry Storie and the murder of her boyfriend look at the long campaign by his family and the book written by a Journaist (Paul Foot ?) to establish his innocence. After many appeals they finally exhumed his body extracted the DNA and were able to prove his guilt after all ! Last I read Vallery Storie is still alive and whellchair bound as a result of spinal injury from being shot by Hanratty. When I was a serving Police Officer I made a number of visits to various prisons to interview inmates and I was always came away with the impression that they were full of innocent people. It appeared to me that the culture for prisoners was one of being wrongly incarcerated. I assume that for many denial is a coping strategy that is easier to adopt than facing up to the consequences of thier actions. Last edited by macabethiel; 11-01-2015 at 08:47. Reason: spelling |

reading your comments about being an ex custody sergeant , reminded me of when my brother ( aged 17 at the time ) got done for speeding ... he pleaded with the policeman by saying " its my first offence " ......... the policeman smiled and said " no such thing as a first offence , its just the first time you've been caught "

Honest Govenor its my first time !

That's what makes Police Officers including retired ones sceptical. I spent about 95% of my working day dealing with the dishonest section of society that does taint your perspective somewhat. What I like about my life now is I interact with normal, usually sober, drug free and mostly honest and decent people. |
