Default Banger Racing

Any one watch after Top Gear, excellent true to life prog, but it is not recent how do I know well I am 66 and only started racing when I was 62 and from day one we had to have fire proof gloves, none of the drivers in the program had gloves and when I started first race at Arena I was not in because I had no gloves, anyway two years later came 2nd in the finals at Smallfields so did my bit, still miss it, Rick

aggressive off road tyres on wheels so just swap.
Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare.

Oh yes loads of memories, in last weeks I remember the mini stocks lad but as said all the drivers this week are before my time, Arena is a good track, marshals are on the ball, fond memories, really enjoyed my time at Arena, hit the wall head on at 30 mph in a Honda civic tor the harness mounts out of the floor but did not hurt a bit apart from my nose which hit the steering wheel through the helmet but could not replicate it, such is impact force, Rick

not at all, if your kit is up to scratch then it does not hurt, full 5 point harness strapped in so tight you have a job to move, I regularly saw guys with belt burns but they were slack, I hit the wall at Arena head on at 30 mph my helmet hit the wheel such was the impact force but it only dented my nose and that was cos the belt anchor point was week, after that I put the belt anchor on to the roll cage, no problem then, Rick

Now, this is where you rely on how good the welding really is

It also shows the force from impact loading on seat belt anchors, and I hope Ricks example shows how important those anchors are, and I am thinking more of those in the rear of the Terrano, especially those in the wheel arches.
DON'T BODGE THEM.

Remember people in the front of cars are also at risk from unsecured passengers in the rear.
