Lincolnshire newby
Hello folks, I have recently bought a R plate 2.7 Terrano, very pleased up to now but it does need a good service and clean as the original owners where heavy smokers and had three dogs that I think decided to malt in the boot area
I will be searching the threads for service advice and where to get a alarm fob and spare key as all I got was one key. Looks like a good site with plenty of good advice |

Alarm fob make sure you get the right one, i believe there are two different frequencies, if you look in the downloads link you will see that you can re-program the new/second hand one yourself as for the key depends if yours is chipped or not, usally shown by a red colour on fob.

hello from another Lincolnshire owner, I had the same problem when I got my mistral, only one alarm fob, but found a very nice man from leeds who came out, found the pin number to my alarm and coded a new fob for me. I also had a spare key cut locally but I don't think it was chipped so cheap and easy.

Thanks for the welcome guys, Gav, I am between Grimsby and Louth off the A16.
Dorn, I did not get a fob with it, just one key with a red chip (small red plastic square on the edge) I have started a thread in the electrical section asking for advice. |

ok mine didn't have the chip so was easy to cut a spare, I'm sure there are places out there that can cut one for you but like I said I don't think they come cheap...

My original key wasn't chipped so I got the spare cut from a local locksmith.

If you can start with a none chiped key then you have NATS 1 and it has been disabled/bypassed, Nats 2 cannot be disabled, Rick

I don't know Rick, the Mistral came like that with only one key, I took it to the local locksmith and he put it in a "reader" and said the key wasn't chipped so a normal duplicate was OK.
