Default 2.8 Y60 auto gearbox

Hi all, 1st time on here in a while, am currently sourcing all the bits I need to turn my sorry looking terrano into a winch challenge truck.
I'm on the hunt for a y60patrol auto gearbox, it's got to be from the 2.8 engine. I've had no luck so far! :0( I'm not in a massive rush as I have quite a big shopping list at the moment!
Cheers matt

I already have a pair of yota axles, the patrol gearbox as I'm sure you'll know mates to the rb25det skyline block...... The skylines gearbox is often upgraded to that of a 300zx, the only thing that is required is to change bell housings over. (It's the same gearbox but just built stronger)
But this means that with a patrol box, I can mate it to the 300zx vg30dett block which is a 3.0l twin turbo pushing out 300bhp. And easy to come by.
I can do all of this with the manual box as well but would prefer to stay auto.
The axles will be upgraded with trail gear shafts and cv's which offer a lifetime warranty with no restriction on engine power or wheel size, I'll be using 3 link suspension with panard rods all linked with creeper joints, and front and back diff locks.
I've acquired a lot of the parts needed, just need to get hold of the final difficult to find parts before I break the bank ordering bits from the USA.

Yeah a good mate of mine is 3/4 of the way through a jimny build with the Lexus 4.0l v8 lump, I've stolen his suspension set up and got a lot of ideas as he's been doing it, just had to get my house finished before the wife will let me play! Lol! The plan may change slightly along the way as I encounter problems but I want a strong truck with a big revvy petrol! :0)

Hoping so, my mate has made some enquiries regarding iva testing and has been told that he can weld too the chassis but not take anything away from it, but trying to get a straight answer is very difficult, I will see how my mate gets on with getting his legal first!! But it has to be road legal as a lot of winch challenge events require driving between stages.

That bit about welding too/not cutting away ... To add the solid axle up front u have to remove all the front suspension mounting gubbins and that's all welded to chassis, so how would that fair

I guess it's just a mount, it's when you start cutting away the chassis.

I'm not 100% sure, will have to look deeper into it when the time comes, but everything around iva's seem a bit grey, don't want to open a can of worms but nobody would blinks an eye when you see landies with shortened chassis' and winch bumpers welded in place?! But trying to get a straight answer or anything in writing is a nightmare, seems the people enforcing and regulating these rules don't even know them!! Haha! Keep getting directed to the .gov website which is a nightmare to pull any info from and contradicts itself all over the place!
Anyway that's my rant over with for the night!
Anyone found me a gearbox yet? :0))

Anyone got or know of a terrano auto box up for grabs? Thinking of trying to get a terrano box to mate to the vg block as finding a patrol box is near impossible. Really want to keep this project auto if possible, cheers matt
