U can have it as a cl site for caravan then u can only stay there for 28day a year with out planning

i think if you make it mobile & can move it around your land you can just keep moving at about & no need for planning permision

don't quote me on that but thats what i was told recently by someone else thinking about same sort of thing

I only know third hand stuff, basically the councils are very hot on trying to stop people doing what you would like to do, they see it as a way for planners to buy a bit of wood land and ultimately develop it, so rather than have any grey areas, just blanket stop it.

The only way I have heard of round the planning, is to do as Stinka says, and basically put a caravan on it for up to 28days. (Although some plots of land do have covenants to stop that as well) But even then, they will want to know how you plan on getting rid of waste etc, and want to inspect it is up to code. I am not 100% sure, but believe that it is only allowed to stay for 28days continuously, but if it then leaves the site, and comes back again, it can stay another 28days, that was what we were told, when my wife was going to be working away from home for 4 months, and we were going to use the caravan to stay. Basically every 4 weeks, we would have to take it home for the weekend, and then return again.

She people I know of, basically under the guises of forest management, got an old JCB, and dug a big hole in the middle, then built an underground bunker, and covered it back over. Small little hut for a Genny, the local farmer allowed them to take a water feed from one of the cattle troughs for a drink, and they have a cesspit buried somewhere down wind, but none of it has any permissions. They spend most weekends up there and the kids holidays as well.

Have a read of this, this guy is just down the road from us, and he thought he had found a way round the rules... He now owns an expensive bit of land that he can do nothing with... Mind you, he did set to upsetting all the local neighbours but making the land loo like a gypsy site...

Isn't that what the guy from Grand Designs did recently? I think as long as it's 'mobile' then it is a temporary structure. He built his shed on an old trailer chassis with the wheels sunk in the ground.

Right enough, he wasn't living in it though, no idea how that changes things. Buy a dense enough wood and build right in the centre so no busy bodies can know about it.

yep kevin macloud did a series recently on this and did exsctly as yiu said including a bed for over nigjt stays

You can build a castle style home and make it availble to the Queen to use it in times of war and theres is nothing they can do. Saw a program about it a while ago on how to get round planning laws.

Another guy built a masive haystack and then built the house inside it, left it like that for 3 years then removed the haystack, as the house had been there for 3 years now there was nothing that could be done.

However the program makers did point out that the law was soon changed to being visable for 3 years, so if you hide it, it dont count now.

That was my thinking to building within an existing dense woodland, then you haven't done anything to conceal the construction, after all, the woods are natural and you didn't put them there!
