Question what are pickled eggs?

i know this is a strange question to ask on a 4X4 foume but hay, went to a polish pizza place earlier ran by 2 women, (we have such things in scotland) and there were pickled eggs on the counter,

what are these pickled eggs?, what's the differance between normal eggs and picked ones? apart from pickled ones being in a jar in stuff that looks like gear oil

handy to have if ever lost on moors -

help send smoke signals

traker dogs love them

alternative fuel supply -may be a rumour on that one

a full jar and you would be bothered if ever saved [internal combustion ensured]

im sure there must be more side effects but enjoy
