Elderly customer of mine has one, says it is fantastic, he is 97 and has sight problems glasses and a magnifying glass needed to read the daily paper, but he can set the font size in this thing and read away no problem and the number of books it can hold is vast, so for those that like to read I guess it could be good, Rick

a friend of mine has double vision after an accident, she used to love reading and her kindle has restored it to her

i am unconvinced as i love holding a paper back in my hands - it's part of the reading experience - but when prices come down I might have a dabble

Bought the wife one for her birthday a few weeks ago...she loves it Dont get them personally as I prefer the whole 'book' thing but takes seconds to download a book and must admit it is a whole lot smaller than a huge book collection

I am a bibliophile by nature and years of practice, but considered a Kindle at the end of last year.

In the end, the fact that you had to send Amazon any PDFs you needed to read decided me against, as I have over 30,000 PDFs.

So I got a secondhand Sony PRS 600 Touch of ebay. It'll never replace books for me, but having the choice of 700 books to hand is a luxury, plus I have several weighty tomes for my professional work on it, as lugging over 2000 pages of manuals is just a non-starter.

Hi

I have one, would not be without it, get my newspaper on it ever morning(first two weeks are free), can also read PDF files as well, our local council now does e-books on line, so just download the book you want for free (time limit applies). If you are looking at getting one, make sure you get the latest one, as it has a host of extras e.g playes music also can read your books to you if you want.

Default Price is now under a ton £89

The latest version doesn't have a keyboard, is smaller, lighter etc.

The Wife would like one for Christmas, anyone got one of the later units?
Are they any good?

Best regards, Rustic

I find the keyboard on mine very useful, I can't understand how I could get so much use from it without one
