thats pretty pathetic actually . they normally carry a customer generated float anyway

Never ceases to amaze me how you put £20 in on the pump but by the time you replace the hose its gone up a penny or two.

Offer them to remove 1p of fuel from the tank... simples

You have made an offer for them to obtain their property back.
But driving off in a temper would be theft.

and with the price of fuel the way it is, it is easier than ever to go over, 1p worth of fuel can;t be very big, less than a tea spoon full surely?

sometimes u need to work out if its worth going over by few pence,£20 might not exactly fall into x amount gallons but say 20p or so more could top up to next full gallon!

some of our local garages, though not morrisons have an honesty bowl of copper.

i tend to put in in multiples of 10 litres well be a yorkshire lad yer no.

if it sez £1.31.9 thats ehat Im gonna pay, none of this £1.32.0 etc!

to be fair, the 24 hour tesco in chesterfield has pumps where as well as opting
to pay at the pump, which i rarely do as I think its slippery slope to less staff
in shop, you can pre programme how much you want to draw in £s or litres
to stop the 1p issue.

it's odd how 10 times 1.29.9 comes to £13 quid though - don't you think? They should put an end to this .9 nonsense!

Do you remember the series "Not The 9 o'clock News" ?

The sketch with the fuel station, the motorist was so careful putting exactly £20.00 in,
then suddenly, as he was putting the nozzle back, the attendant pressed a button, + 1/2 p. Agghhh
