Default tax without v5

just a quick one , my son has got himself a new (secondhand) motorbike . he has the green slip from last owner whilst wainting for v5 to be returned in his name.

can he tax it using this and insurance documment or does he need the full v5 in his name. dave

don't forget to take the MOT certificate. He should be able to do it online, doesn't the green slip have the reference number on it ?
