Default Taking stuff back...

Give us your tales of woe!

Bought a fan heater for the shop three weeks ago from a local electrical retailer - last week it went bang in a shower of sparks after only being used 9-5 four days a week for just over a fortnight.

Took it back today and the woman said, with a perfectly straight face, "you've been leaving it on all the time haven't you!".

No you stupid sh1t-fer-brains cow, I thought I'd open the back door and let the snow and arctic wind in and use your scabby heater as a fecking doorstop...

FFS what are these people on??????

Took a dead Henry vacume back to shitfix. Lasted 3 weeks.
Prat behind counter said that it cant be claimed under warranty 'coz it looks as its been used to clean up brick dust and that it was designed for domestic use only.
He got totally confused when told that most domestic houses are built with bricks and blocks, and when drilling wall its bound to produce brick dust..

the problem with heaters like the fan units they are not meant to left on all day

our old one said in the manual only use for a maximum of 4hrs and if fitted use the thermostat so it is not constantly running

i took a defective sd card back today at tesco's tried it and said yes it is dud and gave me a new one + my money back

I bought a kettle from Tesco, I took it back when the lid failed to open.
It was 9 months old. They gave me a replacement no questions, then they told me the guarantee starts again and is now 12 months from the date of the replacement.

Remind me why the high street shops are closing, and Tesco are opening more shops.

We need to remind these small shops where they will be heading if they can't give normal customer service.

They probably know any way....

probably say been used in commercial setting, and sold as a domestic heater.

have to agree the supermarkets have less policies, probably realise that you
put say £50 a week or more of grocery shopping thru their tills every week,
and dont want a big argument at service counter which is usually in shop
door way and would put off loads of other shoppers....

Bought a new laptop battery online, felt it was going flat quicker than it should (about an hour instead of two hours). Company said " We'll send you another, keep the other one as a spare with our compliments". Arrived next day by Special Delivery, and it lasts about 2.25 hours. Nice!
