What do you clean yours with????

Due to the weather being mild I decided to clean the "tin hotel" now I suppose it is one of lifes little annoying quirks but "black streaks" (no vulgar replys please---unless its a bramer)aint a issue here as they are easily removed but "what do you clean the rest of your van with" would be interested what Brian, Mudlifecrisis says about this as I know hes in the industry, caravans that is not cleaning.... AND any tips about keeping the tin hotel in "showroom condition" from all would be appreciated,(only tips relating to the outside please...

i'm sure you wouldn't but one thing to remember is never, ever, ever use a jet wash

I use autoglym caravan cleaner, because our local motor factor sells it cheap and its good . However the last purchase was from the netto range and was excellent

where we store ours he has an hgv park and will pressure wash your van on cleaning friday for tenner. Its a heavy duty karcher steam cleaner on the back of a transit flat bed. looks good in theory and it doesnt half bring up the paintwork.

He asked me if I wanted ours done, I tried to explain the problems he may be causing but his line was "if the punters want it"

it's amazing how daft people can be, mind you they keep the caravan repair and salvage trade in buisness.

I use any car shampoo, or wash and was i happen to have at the time, realy stubborn marks, silky cream cleaner in a tub. But to be honest when it comes to keeping the outside spotless i aint that fussy, inside is another matter all together allways pristine

Cheers fellas for the advice and tips, now Ill throw this in the mix and see what you think, anyone used traffic film remover, the reason I ask is I was up at the dealers the other week and asked the young lad what they were using and that was the reply, well to be honest he said "TFR" first and being a old fart I said "oh right" , (you know that look and stance that means you aint a clue but dont want to seem a dork, then he sees this and gives you the full version.....)

as for the inside I agree with plank as we keep ours as good as it can be, I personnely have tried "fenwicks" but thought it wasnt that good, Today I used a decent car shampoo and topped it off with Meguiars cannuba wax (think thats how you spell it) and was quite impressed with the results.

I always used car shampoo on the old ones then a rub over with car polish but this current van seems to show the back streaks more

so I started using the caravan cleaner. No idea what makes it different but it works

When i lived in my static on a holiday home

The groundsman / maintenance man used this

Patbuoy, I have tried the fenwicks range and to be honest I didnt rate it, although the stuff they do for scratched windows is fab stuff, as for black streaks if someone came up with something to eradicate these they would be on a winner, I found fenwicks cleaned ok but even when you used bobby dazler after it doesnt give as good a finish as what I am currently using,and within a week its still got the dreaded black streaks, of course this is just my opinion, anybody used TFR (traffic film remover)

i've never found traffic film remover very good for anyhting, I used to run asecond hand car sales site and we used it to clean sales cars and in the valet bay and it seemed to leave spottles on the paint so they had to be polished after. So if it's just a quick wash over our looking for i wouldn't use it.

Elbow grease and 'Mer'

Before we sold the Bailey Senator we cleaned it with Fairy and a sponge, A bit of Jiff to ret rid of the stubborn marks. Then a Tub of Mer Polish, That did the trick!

Boyes store are doing a 500ml tub for £4.99 not a bad price.
