New Member from Kent! 1991 Nissan Patrol
Good Afternoon People!
I have just entered into the forray of 4x4 off road driving, since being involved in track days! It's going to be my daily driver and really happy with it. It has an engine I am very familiar with!! It's a 1991 Nissan Patrol fitted with a Series 2 RB25 DET Here is the spec: 1991 H-Reg Nissan Patrol LWB Black RB25DET (Series 2) mounted to original gearbox Currently running a estimated 300ish bhp Turbo is a XS-Power T04E Large FMIC with pipework Side exist exhaust 3" turbo back New Greddy Cambelt Front facing inlet manifold (modified standard one) Boost is currently at 10psi As this is my first ever 4x4, i am completely retarded with what i need to get it working off road, what i need to help me not get stuck and what i can buy to make it better? The engine itself is definately strong enough, just need the rest of it to match Here are some pictures, any help would be GREATLY appreciated. |

Ah no. It's not bad. In fact that looks like a very nicely kept engine. Putting out around 300bhp. very nice. Looks in good condition for a 1991. Afraid I don't know much about the Patrols but it would appear from members of the site who have Patrols that they are fairly capable off-road in standard form. Having the BFG tyres on is probably a good start in preparing for some offroading. Maybe take a few runs in the mud and dirt and see what difficulties if any you encounter and then you might have an a better idea what if any mods would be worth dishing out some cash on.

Yes, it's a freshly rebuilt engine! Just hope the standard gearbox can take the torque!! I will have to have a little play, living in the garden of england surely does help! It does need a little tidy up with the wiring, preferably i'd like to get some lights up high for it. Anyone know of a Nissan Patrol shop?

You could try putting up a thread in the classified section of the site looking for roof bar and lights or whatever you need. Thought there was someone selling a set of those in the classified section not so long ago. Don't know if they were for a troll though.
