emergency fund
i realise the following suggestion has many implications , but is it a idea for a emergency fund to be set up ?, so that we as a club can help members who have sudden large repair bills .... obviously we would have to vote on whether the member could be helped , but its a idea to prevent hardship and distress ,idea is members contribute a little perhaps towards the fund untill it grows ...... wot ya think ? ..... ok i know it sounds stupid , but all the best ideas do initially .

that is very true zippy , and id like to give something back , perhaps to a member in a similar situation as i was , because this is a great club , and id hate for a member whoever it is to be in distress because of a lack of help .

nice idea Briggie, but maybe hard to administer as who and how would you decide who to help and who not to help as I think most of us have the odd mecchanical issue.
I think you make a major contribution to the club already by answering quickly any posts that arive, which is very reassuring, and lightening the mood of the whole place with easy going threads. keep up the good work |

As Plank said, difficult to manage
Best I think to respond to the need when it arises, as with yours. It seems to work on it's merits then with all interested chipping in You can be our ears to the ground though, just incase you spot a worthy cause |
