Default land rover

My mates son has bought to land rover discoveries over the week end.

He decided with his mates complete with designer shorts and sandals to go "off roading".

Saturday NIGHT despite being warned off the pit falls off he went = 1 x LR diesel with a blown engine.

Enter LR two off road playing on Sunday NIGHT with no back up, no winches or ropes, shovels or anything (still wearing shorts and sandals) = stuck in the middle of a forest in a valley that contained a dried up but muddy river bed = phone call at 11 o'clock last night and found a 3.9 disco on its belly.

I got to the top of the valley laughed alot as anything short of a chinook would not have got this disco out.

They were amazed that I actually reached them without crashing, getting stuck or blowing the engine by being cautious and using an experienced spotter. Tried straps and hand winches just to prove a point, but a waste of time.

cars on the road today

Nissan Mistral = 1 and LR = 0

In a standard form, from what i've seen in my year n a half of off roading
I think all the Jap stuff piss's on the green ovals apart from later 90's.!

Excluding lockers, i really do believe that the terrano / mistral / maverick is better & its only draw back is the torsion bar
The engine on ours is far superior
Mine has drowned in 5 foot of water & survived where many green ovals have died
