Went to Sheffield
..dropped our lass off at her mates tonight, so it was the first ever major long distance drive since fixing the car, and the third time i have EVER driven it some distance since buying it over a year ago!
little bit nervous because all i have ever known with the car is poor idling, stalling etc etc, but everything was awesome, totally awesome! the temp gauge stayed well below half way, acceleration was fine, idling was fine, everything just worked really smooth. I felt a confidence in the engine, if that makes sense? didnt notice plumes of smoke out the back when i floored it a bit, and the drive back was even better, roads almost totally clear, so apart from a nifty detour due to being followed by the po-lice, it was a great drive back. dead chuffed! still smells tho |

Nice one Clivvy!
Chuffed for you. All that hard work you've done has paid off. I can't wait till I'm happy to do a long distance run in mine. Totally strapped for funds right now so need to just keep topping up the coolant till I can afford to do the waterpump (& nearside brake cylinder, clutch slave, another new temp sender - gonna splash out on the real Nissan one this time... ..... oh and figure out why the heater only blows hot air, plus aircon re-gas). will be worth it though 'cos it's a great truck! |
