Default Back again!

Back after a couple of years of absence! Finally found the courage to quit City life & easy living to head into the pyrenees where I live in my ruins with no running water or proper heating & no doors or windows that really shut! However I have electricity & now believe it or not INTERNET! So! Although I have to go down to the river to wash (even at -10/15) I can come back home and send or recieve my emails, order tyres from Milners and once again buy or sell on ebay! Glad to be back on line!

-10/15 ambiante temperature. River probably between 3-5°. I've actually got quite used to it and its quite exhilerating! You just have to throw yourself in without thinking about it or you'd never do it!

Good luck to you, mate! Sounds like quite an adventure you're having down there, although that river business gives me the shivers just thinking about it!

All the best to you!

Post code is 11230. Look on Mappy or Autoroute. It's about an hour south of Carcassonne. Theres a nearby lake (Lac Montbel) of about 600 hectars, which dries up a bit in summer and makes a wonderful moonscaped mud bath for 4X4ing. The village is called Sainte Colombe sur l'Hers.

Yep I know Carcassonne, you'll be about two hours or so slightly south east of me.

Sounds like I need to organise a road trip in the summer! Last time I went down in the 'office' car, a Z4, so its Mr Nissans turn again this year!

Never make a dare

In all seriousness we didnt make France last year (crap exchange and circumstances) but we are giving it serious consideration for May/June time. In fact just to check mainland Europe is ok we're off to Brugge (without the caravan) on Thursday

Hi Daved
There's a good and inexpensive municipal site at Montcuq in the Lot, French post code 46800, just a few minutes from our place. (Wild Bri and his wife have been here) Great place to tour from for a week or so. PM me if your interested and I'll fill you in re the local attractions AND we could introduce you to the delights of rural France.
Regards CL

Now thats very tempting too

Some of the best breaks we've had have been on municipal sites avoiding the egg and chips tetley drinking brits Probably best one of all was in Portugal where we took the first and not the second left. Ended up on a municipal site that was about the same per week as the water slide brit beer bar overcrowded one next door (figuera da foz was the town)

I will be in touch.

cheers
