Economy/emissions 2.7 versus 3ltr?
I'm intending to upgrade my '96 T2, to a younger model, probably a 2005 or similar. Has anyone any data (or info re where I can find it) on the different fuel consumption and CO2 emissions figures of the later 2.7 versus the 3ltr T2s? Also I understand that there are some 'bolt ons' that can improve power/performance/economy of the 2.7. Any info welcome.

Hi Guys
Thanks for the come backs and links, I'll be doing some research on them. Extreme - Yes there's an issue on emissions here in France. If it is over 250g/km (I think?) you have to pay an annual tax. If below - no tax. The 3ltr auto T2 is over that but I think (hope) the manual is 240g/km. That's why I'm hovering between a 2.7 and 3ltr. I'd prefer the bigger engine 'cos I'd like the extra power but not at the expense of paying a tax every year if I don't have to. Rgds CL |

Hi Guys
Quick update - just done the preliminary research - 2.7 manual = 260 g/km, versus 3.0 Di manual = 240 g/km, plus better MPG (litres per 100 km over here). As the cut off point for annual tax here in France is 250 g/km, it looks like I'll be going for a 3.0 Di. Anyone got a good low mileage 'left hooker' for sale?????? Rgds CL |
