engine is a 2.4 - not sure what block its derived from so don't know about longevity but depends what you pay for it as to what expectations you should have. I think fuel economy is slightly better than diesel, but a petrol owner will no doubt advise.

Diesels have more torque and greater longevity but will cost a bit more....what year is this truck and what are you being asked for it out of interest?

West Yorks - whereabouts?

The diesels will go tot he moon and back..... but the petrols are pretty long lived too. Officially the petrols give better mpg, from my experience (have had both) theres nothing in it. 166K is quite high but then an s plate fro £500 is a pretty good deal too.

Make sure 4wd works properly and that the front free wheeling hubs engage, to do this put it in 4wd drive a few yards, stop, dissengage 4wd, turn off, get out, then grovel around underneath and try to turn the front driveshafts. If they turn the free wheeling hubs arn't working properly.

|Check for corrosion around the rear seat belt mounts in the rear arches.
