Default So why don't YOU!!!!

A couple of good lads on have spent some hours organising a national rally for the site.

It can be hard work picking and organising venues organising food and things to do over the weekend. And these boy's do it for free and the joy of meeting other members.

Yet not many have shown an interest in attending

Out of all the caravaners on the site and some who must do rallies with other groups why don't you attend???????????????

You can camp, caravan stay in a b&b or even just come for the day..

Come on let me know what puts you off.

Well for me it's a case of the big club meet is sadly to far away to go for the day, plus we don't have a caravan or tent we also have alot of pets & 1 of the dogs just turns green after 10 miles or so & we realy can't leave them because of their meds but most meets in the Yorshire Dales we do go to & have had a great time

hi muzz, it's proberly the cost of fuel, site etc, paying bills and mortage and keeping a roof overhead is more importent, i for one would like to attend but with a disabled wife, i never know if she can travel till nearer the date, so we never make plans for definate, we do hope to attend the wiltshire meet though, fingers crossed. Muzz,

I would love to go to the National Rally. I have just checked on AA route planner and it is 391.7 miles each way. I am the last guy in the world to claim "it's too far" but I am going to the Orkneys 4 weeks later and I also have a wedding to attend to in Lancashire mid July.

With getting time off etc - I think it's near impossible that I'll make it.

If things change - I'll be there

well i admit i have not even looked at the post in question. so i dont know where it is or when.

i do know its not this week or this month or next month either so it would be unfair to say ill go, as right now i have bigger problems like no money and a mortgage to pay

now in my youth i went from Brighton to fort william on a vespa so im not traveling shy.

its just not a good time to be planning to go to a national rally.
where ever it is. its immaterial ill go if i have the money and ill only know if i have money nearer the time

the construction industry has been devastated for around 6 months now shop workers got it over christmas the factories are now being wiped out.

dont you watch the news ?

Zippy not got a problem with you jumping on the thread a promoting you wiltshire meet as all meets are good and its great that you organising one but it does say at the top National meet.

Try concentrating on reading post instead of posting

Thanks for your reply's guys and girls.

Yes money and miles is a big thing for all of us at present and we have to cut back due to the current situation. Some more than others.

Local meets are great for getting to know peeps in your area but the idea of the national is a one off chance for members from all areas to come together and put faces to names and have a great laugth.

It's generally based on the whole family with entertainment for all. (I know my kids loved them). Where local meets tend to suit particular tastes.

Any meet needs support from the off but the National more than others as deposits have to be paid etc. And until members comit and pay a deposit nothing can be organised.

Also most site give better discounts with higher numbers which often make it a very cheap weekend.

A national can not be planned with the I might join you there gang or I'll let you know closer to the time mob it needs commitment. When you have comitment you have an idea of costs, food plans entertainment etc.

For a club full of members with campervans and caravan's and overland 4x4's who holiday and rallie I'm sure one weekend a year wiil be no trouble.

You could make a week of it and move onto somewhere else like others have done in the past.

Look at previous national reports and pics see the fun involved for all the family get off the internet and meet the chaps and lass's you talk to on the net.

There are a group of us that some time in the past braved the unexplored and with trepidation attended a national. Our family's enjoyed the company so much that we met again then again the group has got slowly bigger we have met as friends in the uk and abroad and we enjoy the company so much we try and have our main holidays together. This year a group of five of us are towing the vans to croatia.

Were not the raincoat and welly types nor are we members of any other asociations. We just met here some time back and have stayed together when we can ever since.

Anyway enougth of my drivel make a commitment and i'm sure you and your family will have a great time.
