Default Tonight with Quentin Wilson

Did anyone see tonight with Quentin tonight? he was talking about the motor market and the deals to be had. As two examples he got two owners, one bloke with a Shogun and loaned him a Pug for the week and another guy that had a Rover 400 shed that he was running into the ground and he got a Fiat 500 for the week. Quentin showed them how much cheaper it would be to change cars even though the Shogun owner was already 7 grand down on his motor.
So is anyone gonna rush out and change their truck for a cheaper one??????

Nope not me

I saw it, but the Shogun on there wasn't particularly old, and was a big petrol engined example. He had huge depreciation to take into account. I'd rather take a gamble on the fact that My Mav has probably dropped about as low as it ever will, so I've only got servicing and normal running costs at 25-28mpg to consider. And it's all mine - I don't have a fortune to spare every month for finance repayments...

I'm not selling up yet but if I was going back to cars (thats a very big IF & unlikely to happen) my short list would be Nissan Skyline, Scooby, EVO, Toyota Supra 3L twin turbo TRDWould I be quids in ? NO all drink petrol like mad would be replacing tyres once to twice a year & will be back to collecting points again

Planet Kwikfit probably. I was quoted just shy of £200 for the *cheapest* 245/70 R16 they had on their stocklist, when I blew a tyre on the rear of the Trooper I had at the time, on the A9 about 10m south of Inverness - and that was in 2001!! If he was daft enough to buy tyres through a Mitsi franchise dealer, he may well pay even more.

Cheers
Andrew
