MG Metro
I had a visit from a friend today and he brought his MG Metro to see me. Looks absolutely mint condition too. He has just finished refurbishing the engine with things like lightened fly wheel and bored out a little too.

That is gorgeous mate, tell him I love it.
There is a red one parked on a drive not far from me, one day I might ask about it! |

I bought an MG Metro for my ex when we were together back in the 90's.
Only done 17,000. Quite a rapid little motor. They did a turbo version too Cool looking motor Jim. |

I thought that the MG was a turbo. The one I drove was a turbo, with the turbo boost gauge over the rear view mirror. Very nippy. Not sure I would want to do a long motorway run in it, but round the back lanes, it was fantastic.

Early MG Metros & Turbo versions

It was stupid quick unfortunately the head gasket blew so it ended up being scrapped as the anti theft system also kept immobilising the engine. |

My mother had the MG Turbo years ago. Bucket of rust and thirstier than a desert donkey but it sure was quick!

Jim, I might have a Mini Metro handbook and service book pack here somewhere in mint condition if he's interested. Early Metro's had a fuel cap seal problem and would dump fuel out, a friend of mine stuck his Mums new one one in a ditch from the sliiiiiiide! |
