Default Terrain 2 safety recall notice

Anyone else had a recall letter from Nissan?
Got one through the post yesterday re passenger side air bag. Apparently over time they develop a fault which means in the event of an accident the bag can inflate with such extreme force that parts of the airbag unit can shatter firing metal fragments into the cabin.
Potential for severe injury to for all occupants.
Photos are quite scary to say the least.
Nissan will rectify the fault for free at your nearest dealer, around a 2 hour job to do.
Please spread the word as they are trying to track down all affected vehicles.
Wasn't sure where to post this so please re post where applicable.
I would treat this as a matter of urgency for all those with passenger air bags.
Scary stuff!!

Did it a couple of years ago, a pain free process (except I was in cold and wet Bolton), so not really pain free...

Cheers,

Is this all T2's or only certain years, or variants? What do you do, just contact a Nissan Main Stealer and tell them about it, or do you have to wait for a letter?

Yes, I do rememer this being raised when I first joined the forum.

However, a timely reminder never goes amiss.

I would ask the same as LF........ do you just roll up at the stealership, and ask them to check the VIN and carry out the necessary repair FOC.......

I would say you could check by phone.

Go and ask them if it's due a recall. They'll check and if needed they'll book it in, do it and then hand you back the car with a new airbag.
And yes, it's all free.
Dunnoo about the courtesy car though.
