Newbie questions
I've had it a week
Still getting used to it ,Runs great , I've always had Nissans and currently own 2 Bluebirds and 2 Primeras the only 4x4 I've had was a Santa Fe 2.7 V6 petrol , This drives very differently. Only ever had 1 Diesel car before , so getting used to that too So Newbie questions !! look out !! - It Judders (only once) when you switch it off , is this normal ? - Is seems a bit vibratey on tick over is this normal ? - What suspension mods are there for a smother ride (on road, not off) - any specialists in South Wales ? |

They are very primitive engines and they are a bit noisy compared to most modern stuff. Just check the engine mounts and intecooler brackets. What's it idling at cold? Suspension mods should be done with caution, these beasts are Independent Front Suspension with torsion bars and adjusting them too much leads to very severe angles occurring for the CV's and when under harsh load off roading etc it can kill them, not to mention the excess strain on the upper and lower ball joints. I'm on a 2" torsion bar adjustment on the front, 2" springs on the rear to match and then a 2" body lift at the moment with plans to go bigger eventually, have a look around some of the sections, there's plenty of info around matey, just shout up

Welcome aboard, nice trucks the older ones. Expect to have to do some rust repairs but other than that good trucks.
Need pics of the truck and your other fleet, are they p10 primeras? Bluebirds are good too. |
