Pay before sending

Sorry to say I know I have said it before, about payment up front, but now have two members that I have sent goods to and no payment, I have given them more than two weeks in case they were on holiday, but both have not been on line for more than that, so I will no longer be sending parts to members I have not dealt with before, the amount in question is over £100 so bit pissed off to say the least, hope you all understand, Rick

Sorry to hear that Rick. It's really not on in a Forum like this, I'd have thought people should know better. Seems that not everyone is as decent and straight up and down as we thought.

Let's hope they buck their ideas up and get it sorted sharpish.

OK we are trying to organise a meet or two, maybe we are concentrating on the wrong area...

Maybe no payment... then get the part back lol. (said in jest, you can't be above the law).

Do we have any statistical information on the member, like how long has he been a member, and how many posts?

Did the member have a dispute over the suitability of the part? it might be he specified the wrong part.

I would have no problem sending money up front before getting parts, it seems
the normal commercial business way, ok it adds time, especially if cheques have to be cleared, I have done bank tranfers before now, telephone banking, free and instant, but it does require the details of the sellers bank, something that not many people are happy with.

PayPal could be used, but why pay big fees and faff around with paperwork that can take longer than getting the part and shipping it.

Rick, you have been bitten before, and you let your trust slip, you said you wouldn't do it again, I can only assume the member is probably well known to us all. Try one last time, maybe there are problems at home, but people should honour their responsibilities.

So which county will the next meet be in lol....

Shame, one or two bad 'uns spoil it for the rest. I'm not against paying up front, but the trust that has been broken will take a long time to reset itself.

Sorry to hear this rick.

But I would never send parts out before payment especially on something worth 100+.
No reason to now, sending money to people is so easy using paypal or online bank transfer..

I'm the same, no problem paying up front. (It is usually the buyer who has to put the trust in the seller!)

I've got a lot of trust for well established forums and it's members.... But that's just my nature.

I have my fingers crossed that there is a simple explanation for this and that the members in question come forward with payment soon!

Those among us who chose to refuse to honour deals willingly entered into should be named and shamed and this Forum should not knowingly allow them to continue as members.
I support those members who say "Name and shame".

I propose Rick gives both members 1 more week to come forward and pay up, if not, name and shame, if that still doesn't solve it then I think the addresses where there parts were sent should also be posted up too. Not so everyone can go "Dog the Bounty Hunter" but just so other members avoid sending stuff to the same places!!!

As Rustic said, it's easy to sign up with a new username and forge a new name.

I've experienced this myself in the past, it's horrible, I placed my trust in a guy I'd only met a handful of times purely because we bonded over a vehicle and got chatty, sent him a few bits and bobs totalling around £60 and didnt get a penny.

It got to the point where the guy even kept cutting my calls off when I rang and wasn't replying to text messages. The final straw was when I called and rather than cutting me off he answered and didnt realise and the person he was with asked who it was, to which he replied, "Just some knob pestering me for cash"

That was the final straw....... I wonder if its the same guy and he came to Rick for new windows

As I see it........... They are cutting their noses off to etc etc.

They won't get any more parts & they'll loose the membership so in the long run they'll loose out.
The money saved by using the skills & advice of this forum totally out weigh the joint £100.00 bill.

Name them too.

I disagree with naming and shaming.
If someone comes into a community such as this to rip people off, a fundamental part of naming and shaming isn't going to worry them in the slightest. Naming them will help others avoid getting ripped off though...
