Hi all :)
Hi all,
I'm Brian, I'm a keen out doorsey bloke who loves 4x4's and the colour green! Ex army, currently a security guard. I work on a large area of land and have access to a really good sort of green lane circuit. I used to patrol round it in my old Toyota Landcruiser. I have permission to shoot there on my off days, and the owners like me to take my dogs with me to work! It's probably the BEST job I have ever had! My dogs and I are just loving the place. I'm just about to think about parting with money (in a few days) for this 2005 Patrol... http://www.drokesfarmmotorco.co.uk/u...01610048411192 Any advice apart from the usual second hand car stuff to look for? I'm buying with a view to turning it into a part time overlander. It'll also be my daily ride, and I'll have to be able to accommodate my dogs in the back during the working week. I also have the start of a basic list of kit/mods.. Nissan Patrol Kit List
So basically hi all, and whaddya think? Brian P.S. I build/repair PC's as a hobby, here's my currant gaming machine.. http://imgur.com/xOpNTjW |

Hi and welcome. Sounds like it'll be another thread to excite. You've found the best place for info
Anyone else think it's a little overpriced though |

But what I will say, if you intend to add value and keep it for quite a few years, then the initial higher price (if any) will fall into insignificance if it's the right truck for you. But, best to have a couple on the back burner, then negotiate. Nice to have some new ideas coming on board. Rustic

I want your life
Welcome mate you will like it on here, plenty of trol owners and they aren't shy when it comes to getting their hands dirty I have a Terrano (don't be jealous, you'll get there one day ) so I'm not very clued up on trol mods but if I wanted to learn I would check out threads by MrK, Barrbeast (foxy, not bess), Jay666d and Daveyboy, there are others but I can't remember their names |

Well, it'll take a while to get that lot together, but the first 10-14 items will be done within the first month. I'll need advice on shocks and springs mainly as I'm not sure on the overall weight of all the extras I'll be gluing on! I'll be posting a shed load of questions in the relevant threads later on as I learn what I need to ask.. It seems to me that every YouTube video I look at there's another item to add to the list, but I'm not going to run out with my piggy bank until I know what I NEED and can afford - Shovel, sand ladders.. (sensible stuff) - as opposed to what I'd like.. Kitchen staff, butler etc.. (after I win the lottery!!) Really looking forward to getting back into the 4x4 world as I have had some sort of midlife crisis, and stupidly bought a BMW 750 (which I love - comfort, power... POWER!! And loads of buttons..) But my heart lies in a more capable and practical vehicle. Plus my dogs are getting sick of me growling at them if they look at my leather seats funny! I think this will take at least a year to stick together, I want to do a good job and get things right first time. Thanks guys |
