Help pricing my Terrano
Hi guys, now the MOT work is complete and the truck will be back in for its retest next week I am considering selling my Terrano, but not sure what its worth....
It is a 1998 Nissan Terrano 2.7tdi with 203k miles 2 inch body lift, 31 inch tyres, snorkel, wheel spacers. It is showing its age a little as you would expect for a truck of this age, both front wings are bubbling, but it has been a brilliant truck since I have owned it in about 2010 and I will be very sorry to see it go.....but I have no further use for it any more can anyone give me an idea of what it might be worth? Cheers Stephen |

Trouble is that it is worth more to you than anyone else. Will let you know what the insurance offer for ours if you like. Ours is the same age but 160k and lwb and standard setup.

yes I realise its worth more to me.....sentimental value and all that....
what happened was last year I gave it to my daughter and the other week it failed the MOT and she freaked out and gave me it back, so I decided I could either sell its as spares or repairs for a couple of hundred quid or fix it and sell it for a little more..... Would I be greedy asking for about a grand.....? I personally think there are a few more years worth of running in it yet, or even better used as an off roader/ weekend toy |

All the mods implies it has been used off road, so that halves the price straight away.
I recon my 1995 Mav with less than 98k miles is worth far more than yours, but it's all about condition and what life it has had. The insurance company would rate it at less than £400, a full fuel tank and a new set of tyres and you are over that anyway. If my Mav had to be sold, it would be over my dead body lol... I don't know who might be interested in buying it though. I think the value is based on what work requires doing, for example.. if it needs work doing to the wings, -£200 if it needs new tyres, - £300 if it needs new exhaust, - £100 if it needs new brakes, -£150 new clutch... welding to floor pan... welding to sills... you get my drift, so a much older vehicle could go for more. If it is in pristine condition, it would still need a full inspection. Uncle Rustic
