Default Bloody people!!

I have a couple of Ebay auctions on the go at the moment, all on collection only.
Woke up this morning to a message stating that one item had sold at the BIN price.
It all then started to look a bit dodgy. The bid itself came from a real account with good feedback, but they were in the States. Not looking good for a collection only auction.
The correspondence looked a bit iffy, one email from Ebay looked fine but the email from the buyer didn't go through the usual routes and didn't appear in my Ebay messages.
The delivery address looked a bit iffy too.
Sure enough I get the email from Ebay stating that it was an erroneous bid and was now being withdrawn while Ebay investigate.

What do the perpetrators hope to gain? Apart from time wasting and peeing people off.

I had a situation last year with a petrol mower I was selling on eBay, clearly stated "Collect Only"' It sold for a good price and they paid promptly but 5 mins later I got a message to say "Can you deliver".
So,they have paid no postage/delivery charge and they want me to deliver to Nottingham (from Bristol) Numpties!

Clearly the answer is NO! I'd add that I'm perfectly happy for them to arrange their own courier to collect it.

I always write the whole lot down, stating someone can organise courier costs and labels wrapping ect once money is cleared

We have sold and bought loads of items, well over a thousand now and most go swimmingly. There have been a few knobs to deal with over the years, but ebay are great and so is paypal.
