An idea? A debate.
I’d like to ask a question here, it is not engineered to be disruptive or disrespectful to the club or the site moderators in any way so please let’s keep it a clean debate.
Obviously the reason we are here is we either own or have an interest in Nissan or Ford Maverick 4x4’s, I’m sure that we are all agreed on that one? The success of any Club/Web community is for its members to get to know each other, offer help and share ideas and experiences etc, be that through physical meets or virtually through forums such as this one. The fact that I’m asking this question here means that predominantly we are a web based club as most of our communications are conveyed through this media. The heart of many clubs/communities is not the subject matter that brings them together (in our case our vehicles), it is the social networking side. On another site that I am a member of we have monthly meets in most areas plus half a dozen National Events each year. On the web site we also have a similar Pub/Chat area to this one and there is quite often a thread started most Fridays called “Bloody hell it’s only Friday already, what are you up to the weekend”. People post what they’re doing where they’re going etc and it gives everyone an insight to what that person is like and their lifestyle etc. I guess it is human inquisitiveness that makes it a very popular thread to read with many contributing. Ok, I’m starting to waffle here, I guess what I’m trying to say would it not be a good idea to allow more sociable threads/posts to be made here without being frowned upon for not being about Nissan/Ford 4x4’s. Yes by all means continue to offer the help and advice about our trucks too but can we not broaden our ‘chat’ without post being closed/locked edited etc. As I said at the beginning, please don’t cause this debate to spiral into personal attacks, if you don’t agree with what someone says just ignore it accept that people have differing views. Lets try and encourage the none posting members out of hiding and post there opinions on this one and try get to know a little about each other too. -cheers- PS Lucy is off to London later today so I have the whole weekend to myself -mex- |

Aye me too - a single joke thread (as we currently have, unless its gone) rather than a separate board, as this keeps the jokes to just one line of the last 5 posts (Todays post on other software) so jokes don't over run everything.

ummmm
Ok this is my female view I like a joke I like a chat get things off your chest from the days events. Somtimes things get very ladish at which point I just read another post etc I believe in the freedom of speech. What I really dont like (and It will put new members off I am sure ) is pulling people apart just because you don't agree with their point of view. I am new here and it seems to me there is bad feeling amoung some of the older members that is spilling over to ruin the enjoyment of this site. Until they put there differences aside I think we will have more of what has been going on in the last 2 days  Yes to the chat area from me if its kept friendly. |

i agee with willow, everybody is entitled to their opinion, but i've only been a member a few weeks and after the childish snipes/ comments made over the last few days between members were getting out of order, just my opinion, -boxing2- -boxing2- -welldone- -welldone-

chatrooms are open to attack as we have seen from many different secure ones in the past, nothings secure until some spotty faced little tyke finds a way to hack it,
this is why the chatrooms were removed, but if the new owners want to install one then so be it, but good luck. shark1e |

Good point
Its a shame this kind of thing aint already happening and I dont exactly know why that is.
What grown men & women do is debate/argue/disagree/complain/fuss & cuss and hopefully still remain respectful towards each other. So I thought to come across a place/site such as this fills them needs. But Im wrong cos I forgot about the nasty bullying control freaks out there amongst us. (no names) Im sorry if I come across as an attention seeker on this club but when I first discovered it I hoped that this was the place to be for a Nissan 4x4 fan. So my enthusiasm has got carried away by posting so many pics etc and trying to get involved by voicing my opinion too much. Therefore consider it kerbed. |
