Default New rules of engagement

My new rules of engagement:

I will help you by towing your stuck fwd hatchback with bald tyres containing you and your children out of the snow if:
- your polite
- you genuinely didn't realise this track had a 17% hill on it
- you genuinely didn't realise just how slippery compacted ice was
- you do everything you reasonably can to aid your rescue
- you seem to accept it might be a good idea to have a tow rope with you next time

I won't be towing you out if:
- when I ask you where your towing point is you reply "what's a tow point"
- you have no idea what a towing eye is or where it might be, or where it might go
- you make no effort to get out of your nice warm car to assist me sliding round your car trying to find your tow point
- you look at me like it's my duty to find your tow point
- you look at me like it's your right to be rescued
- you don't seem to grasp that I can't possibly tow you out unless we find a way to attach a rope to your car
- you don't appear to realise that taking your fwd hatchback containing you and your children down a 17% slope with untreated compacted ice on it when you clearly have no idea how to control a vehicle and when you had the opportunity at the top of said 17% slope to pause on the nice clear Tarmac underneath the shelter of the m40 flyover to observe the half dozen other idiots sliding around on the same slope and consider that it might not be a good idea to turn back to the treated main road and accept it will take an extra 5mins to get the kids to school this morning!!!!

Rant over.

I am glad it is not just around here there are idiots like that. We get them every year when the first snow or frozen morning happens.

I usually see them sliding gently into a roadside ditch.
