ASDA Cheap Castrol GTX semi synthetic 10w40 or 15w40
As per title, cheap Castrol GTX oil, semi synthetic, 4 litres £13 in ASDA now. Was around £21
10w40 or 15w40 maybe other types, but these I was interested in. I have used either on my 2.7td Mav over the years.... nearly 20 years lol. Not sure how much longer it's on... but two would be enough for a complete oil change... save it till next time.

I will never ever use Semi again after going Mineral and listening to the difference in engine sound
10w-40 Mineral makes my 04' pur like a cat whereas the Semi made it tap a little

Fully synthetic noisy ?
Quote:
Your motor probably sounded a little tappy as the old oil had thickened and degrade making it sound quiet Trouble is the heavier grade fully synthetics are not generally stocked by the usual retailers so its hunt round for the likes of Opie oils to get the right grade. I use Fuchs 10W/40 fully syntetic and my car sounded quieter than the previous semi. I think a lot of it is between my ears though I convince myself it sounds and goes better after an oil change to justify the cost.lol |
