Default Dvd rip

OK not 4x4 related, but my very old DVD player/recorder has died, must have been at least 10 years old. Has anyone just bought a new DVD/Blu Ray player?

I had the DVD recorder as we used to record Moto GP, Darts etc for my in laws. I see that you now cannot buy a DVD recorder as they seem to have gone over to Blu Ray/hard drive recording. So it is going to have to be a Blu Ray/DVD player only.

Can anyone recommend one or a make? This was a Philips DVDR and we hated it, very clunky user interface.

I think I may have one of the Phillips ones you are on about with the clunky interface

Black one with a DVD Drive and 120GB HDD in it?

Sorry don't do much TV stuff but do have HDD on the computer. Just record digitally on that. You can get these digibox thingies that will record for you and essentially the same thing ie. a big old hard drive in a box Leaving now before I expose more knowledge shortcomings

I just love that comment, I have been on several other forums, and I wished that some had followed that advice.

ONE or two on here too...
