terrano 3.0 turbo whistle
Hello there i have recently bought a terrano van 3.0 , And seen as it did not start great i have fitted some new heater plugs, not as easy as i thought , after taken the inter cooler of i then had other things to take of just to get to them, not sure what there were one of them stops the engine and i think other is for boost for the turbo i think, after fitting them and putting every thing where it was the it started grand but when i go down the road the turbo now has a whistle ?? I havce taken it back to bits 10 times and i can not see of hear where its coming from ??? Any one any ideas ? I also put a new exhorst on at the same time, do they always whistle ? or is my turbo about to die ??

most likely you have a problem with the hoses/clips inter cooler to turbo/manifold, Rick

Was it a new front down pipe?? Think other members have had issues with turbo noise when they have changed the down pipe.

How loud is the whistle bud as I hear a slight whistle from my 3.0, always have.
When I first got the Trol there was a whoosing sound during boost but that turned out to be a loose intercooler pipe - tightened up the clip and that was it. |

Thought it was you rustic.
Have they damaged the flexi when changing the rest of the exhaust? Worth a check. If that's now got a split in it that might explain the noise!! |
