Default Hola

Having brought a 1989 Terrano 2.4 petrol as a stop gap car, I was then persuaded by a pal who helps organizes http://marocchallenge.eu/
to take part in this.
I was expecting to have to carry out some serious mods, but after going on http://www.motor-aventura.com/
This was my first ever go at off roading!!
I was amazed what a 25 year old car on a factory set up good do.
It did everything my pals moded disco did.
I do need to upgrade springs & a few other bits, but will post in the tech section.
Looking forward to your help.
TIA
Clive.

Hi, welcome to the best forum for these trucks.
25 years old, still in it's youth.
There are many owners on this site with vehicle over 20 years old, some even 19 lol.. (in joke on the forum lol).

Mechanically these vehicles are very sound, but some are affected by the tin worm, especially the later models where salt is used on the roads.
Floor panel under rear seats, front wings and sills towards the rear.

I think your model is what we refer to as the RM3, so you should see some threads if you search, but generally other than body panels, most of the running gear is similar or interchangeable with the later models.

Best regards,

Rustic

Hi and welcome. Although I live in Bristol, my Terrano has lived in Spain for the past five years. I drove it over from the UK to a small town called Coin, about halfway between Malaga & Marbella, registering it 18 months later as a Spanish vehicle. Coin is where my daughter and her family have lived for 13 years, and as me n 'er are both retired we spend about half the year in Spain.
These are seriously capable vehicles, mine is 20 years old, with a tad under 160,000 miles on the clock - it's proved absolutely invaluable for the mountain tracks up which my daughter and most of our Spanish friends live.
You won't regret joining this club, the amount of money I have saved by following advice from other members is amazing - long may it continue!

Many thanks for the warm welcome.
Good to know that later parts can fit mine.
Nice to meet another Clive.
Never been to Coin but heard its a nice place.
It says Alicante on my profile, but I live up the coast between Benidorm and Denia in Javea.
Of to browse the tech section and drive everyone made with daft questions.
