Petrol v TDi
OK I thought I started a thread re TDi compared to a 2.4 petrol, well cannot find it so will post results here, The TDi wins, but only just, on top gear driving the Tdi scores, but at low speed torque the petrol wins all the way and as for consumption first test of 131 miles = 21 per gallon towing, but have to say higher speed performance was better so using this extra performance has to be taken in to consideration, time will tell, Rick

Aim to get stuck and be completely self sufficient in extraction, love getting muddy, 2ft deep is good but rare. |

Had a petrol and 3 tdi's so I think my choice is easy to guess.
Liked the revvy engine on the petrol but it did run away in low box on steep descents and not as good for towing. Saying that this auto I run now tends to run away also unlike the manual. If a petrol came along at the right price I could be tempted to have another. |
