Default Fresh MOT and no advisories! :-)

Well, picked the car up this evening, straight through the MOT and no advisories!

So the question now is, is this the best time to consider changing to what I've always wanted - patrol or landcruiser?

We don't do all the long journeys in the t2 any more , it gets used as my drive to work (5miles) and for lugging my tools and materials round for my house renovation, so I could swap some mpg and family practicality for petrol head 4x4 heaven without the mrs putting her foot down!
Thoughts guys??
Patrol or landcruiser? And with which engine?

Congrats on the MOT.

As for what next? They're both highly regarded trucks, personally I like the look of the Trol.......................

Yeh I prefer the look of the trol too, but the idea of a v8 landcruiser and running on lpg (just to keep running costs almost sensible!) sounds almost too tempting!

It depends on your budget. I've had probably 50 Cruisers in the last 18 years from a 76 FJ 45 pickup to a 03 100 series. with them all inbetween. From what I can gather the 4 cyl 3 litre Patrol engine can have issues, so can the 3 litre Toyota engine (up to 2000) The 6 cyl engines do not have any real issues but come in relatively expensive models.
£ for£ you would get a better condition Trol than a Cruiser but there is an abundance of power in a Cruiser that a Trol just does not have.
I've had the petrol models too, 40, 60 80 and 100 series. They are thirsty to say the least, even with LPG. 40 and 60 series, just too old, 80 series 4.5 15-18 on petrol, 11-13 onLPG, 100 series 4.7, 16-19 on petrol, 12-14 on LPG, mind you they are nice to drive. The 100 series is massive, like a mobile living room, too big in my opinion. The later 4 cyl's diesels are nice, but the newer they are the more complex they become.
Bargain basement is the Colorado 3.4 V6, thirsty, reliable and dirt cheap bought privately

just a few pointers.
Hope this helps

Andy.
