Default Cold weather coming, salt and corrosion...

Yesterday I looked at next weeks weather, and noticed that temperatures are falling to below freezing.
That means salt on the road, and the increased corrosion.

So yesterday I bit the bullet, raised the rear on axle stands in the garage, fan heater on, 3x 150 watt flood lights, and I set about scraping off any loose dried waxoyl, and re-coating. Then onto the front. Worst were the lower suspension wishbones, that takes all the rain, stone chips etc. " high wash area"
I also re did the inner wheel arches and removed the rubber trim in the front arches and re did the waxoyl there too, all metal looks like new.
One bumper out rigger was showing some sign of rust, but still strong, so de-rust and waxoyl, so good for another two years.

So underneath now looks well and truly protected again.
On day one I waxoyled the car, including the ARB's, prop shafts, suspension links, torsion bars and looking at them now, they still all look like new.

I always have a jar of waxoyl in the cupboard, so if I ever say remove a wheel, out it comes.

Whilst I was underneath, I checked the free wheel hubs, by rotating the front prop shaft a few turns, and both hubs locked, then when the front wheels were off the ground, I rotated the wheels a few times in each direction, and they each disconnected.

SO I am ready for the ice and snow.

Are you?

Brought a folder for the pile of receipts that came in a carrier bag when I brought the car, I sorted it through, date ordered it, stapled stuff together and slipped them into the wallets

Looking through once they were all in, it appears that mine was undersealed my the main dealer 2 years after it came out of the factory
