Default Trying a Terrano

for a while

Bit of a story but having just sold my off road prepared Landcruiser I thought I would give a Terrano a go while my New VW Amarok turns up, mainly to be used for dragging my twin axle caravan about and a bit of greenlaning

Hi any more info,on which Terrano you have? The Terrano is a good truck(biased) and under rated by many. There a quite a few tin tent owners on here that use their Terrano's to pull em.I have used mine at pay and play sites, such as K.O.R.C. And Whitby off road center.

There is a wealth of information on here, including downloads for the workshop manual.
Also lots of modders on here.Oh and welcome.I also notice, that we are practically neighbours.

2003 2.7 Tdi Sport in Silver with some 17 inch alloys fitted, not sure about much else with it to be honest, not sure if model type (possibly R20 ?)

seems in pretty good nick from what I saw when i was looking. Needs a few bits doing

I have already put a front pipe on it and give it a good clean, needs heater sorting as its on full heat all the time, the remote fob doesnt work off the buttons and the alarm goes off when I open the doors (reprogramming wont work), air con doesnt work but will probably just want gassing which will be done shortly. oh the transfer out put seal is just a bit damp so I will throw a seal in that as well

welcome to the club!

sounds like you bought a car same as mine! You can re program the fob, if that doesn't work buy a used fob from ebay and try that - that's what I did, works perfect. Alternatively disconnect the alarm - its behind the plastic panel drivers rear (that's what the previous owners did with mine). Oddly, I had to fix my remote, I need a new front pipe, my air con needs regassing and its an 03 plate....spooooooooky!

well if the gas has gone u probably need to fix leak main cause the pipe with the service valve has hole under the rubber coated clamp above passenger head light or hole in condenser or like mine leaking service valve

well heater is sorted, looks like someone had the dash apart and left the control cable clips off, wondered where all the spare screws in the glove box were from, luckily the clips were there also

Going to go for gassing this afternoon at my mates (air con technician), will stick some dye in as well so if there is a leak it can be traced

There were 3 spare fobs in the glove box as well and non of them work, will disconnect the alarm bleeper just for now (thanks for tip on location) and get this sorted in due course

also found rear indicator fault is just down to the numpty putting wrong bulb in (double contact)

you obviously havent got the concept of how big this is

Its a Daihatsu chassis, engine and box (lowered and moved backwards to get COG as low as possible), Landcruiser 70 series front axle, Shogun rear axle with locker, mixed suspension but mainly Range Rover
