Tow Ball Mounting For A Project
Hi All, need some ideas. I want to be able to mount a vertical pole on my towball. I've looked at tow hitches on Ebay but I really don't think it's worth it for the cost.
Has anyone got any ideas????? |

Yeah I've seen that, he basically got hold of a set of old tent poles. He cut one down and welded it to the tow bar so the poles then slot together. I was wanting something a little more robust plus the spare wheel would be in the way on the T2. I was wanting the tow hitch fitting to support the bottom of the pole and then was going to make a brace from the roof bars. I've got the telescopic pole but wanting to find something to mount it to the tow ball so that I can remove all traces of it when not in use.

Yeah got one of them too Pete but it's a big bulky thing to carry around. I'm wanting to be a little easier to use so that I can drop pole and go to a different location. That's why I'm thinking about mounting something on tow ball.

how about " flaring " the end of the pole so it fits onto the ball of the towbar , then secured by a clamp on the roof rack ...... or is that not viable ?
