which 4x4 ?
i recently sold my terrano considering another but unsure at mo, really loved my toyota which was the 3.0 surf auto if the mpg was better than 20 i would have kept it ,friend of mine repairs land/range rovers & he always has his ramps full & yes oil leaks come as standard so pass i found the t2 2,7 under powered compared to the surf but the surfs are getting dated now ,budget around 5 grand

SWB Y61 live axles, diff lock rear, coils, discs all round , loads of room for 37s before any body trim. Early 3.0 had probs I believe but don't buy them you want a 2.8 or 4.2 Most reliable truck in the bush, fact Just checkout ANY aus offroad site you like |

I recently bought an 05 plate 2.9 diesel auto Terracan for less than your budget. Merc lump goes like stink .good fuel, full leather ,climate etc. If you can live with the badge you will get a lot of car for your 5k

loved the t2 driving position & leather etc mine had done 90,000 but as i say found it rather lazy , my 3.0 used to pin me in seats at the dab of the throttle ,think my t2 would need some serious tuning to match it
