It seems to have a fundamental flaw in it There's a dirty great hole in the middle

Can't you make one, make a template, draw around the flange, drill 2 holes,
Job done.....

think they may of changed main pic now, yes thats what you want, though very easy and about 10 mins to make if you a pair of tin snips and thin sheet of Ally.
i removed my valve, drew round the gasket between valve and manifold, cut one out of ally sheet, and bolted everything back together again and it work great.
Ally is soft enough to make good seal too so on mine it wasnt a problem.

im going to lazer cut some but i just wanted the template.. obviously i also need 1 so it will do for mine.
