change of vehicle details
so, just curious about this.
if a person was to paint their white van black, using a brush and shitty paint, would they have to inform the dvla of such a change, i mean legally? |

hmm. intersting. and could a member of the public, for example, report this if the vehicle still shows as white?

Another prob is if Mr Plod has a look on his in car computer and sees that your car is a different colour to the details he will pull you over.Especially if you are driving a fancy BMW !

well, i can check easily enough what the original colour of a car can be via the tax disc site, im basically building up some ammo against a person who threatened me a while back (for no good reason i might add) and i think hes a bit dodgy.

OK , as a Bobby its already been highlighted that my interest would be purely ensuring the vehicle is what it should be.. i.e. not a ringer. I'd have to be very bored to go down the line of pursuing any issues over the correct colour being on the log book, and I can see the judge rolling his eyes already. It would perhaphs be more proportionate if part of a string of offences a person was being dealt with for - but not as a point scoring exercise.
To be honest, given the reasons outlined I'd say its not worth the lost sleep and to let it go... give folk enough rope and they generally do the honourable thing. |
