Default 2000 Y61 3 litre turbo - good idea or not?

Sorry to keep on about this, but I'm still trying to decide on what would make a good replacement for my Y60 Patrol. The Navara is out, not a viable tow car. So I'm thinking about a Y61. The 3.0 litre Turbo puts out enough torque to easily tow the caravan.

Does anyone have any bouquets or brickbats for this car?

What about this one?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=p5197.c0.m619

It's cheap (at the moment) - a little bit worried about the engine warning light, if I buy it it will have to be blind, I can't go to Yorkshire twice. What questions should I ask the seller?

Thanks.

Why's that? (I mean why should you not look at it, not why do you live in Yorkshire)

I would only buy this motor if I had a known good mechanic give it a really good going over,, I would not buy it blind at all, you may be able to get one of the motoring organizations to vet it for you but I expect that will cost, Rick

Yes, I realised it had been damaged and repaired. Was thinking that was why it was cheap. Jace, it has to be pre 03, I can't afford newer. I'm going into overdraft as it is.

Jace, I'm not keen on the looks of the Terrano, I know loads of people on here swear by them and really like them, and I'm sure they are brilliant cars, but I prefer big square boxy cars, even the Y61 is a bit curvy for me, but I will have to get the new car in the next couple of weeks.

Briggie, I looked at that car but it's only a 2.8 - they haven't got much go about them and it's a completely different engine from the 4.2, not just smaller, totally different (and poxy, IMHO).
