speeding ticket
Bugger, just got notice in the post. 37 in a 30 oops,in a non built up area and not a soddin car or pedestrian (or anything come to think of it) in site. Camera van was hidden behind bush ,Gutted as i have had a squeaky clean license for 25 years. Any idea what fine i'll get or is it the £60 and three points thing?

I normally have the greatest respect for our law enforcers, and would normally defend them if anyone was having a pop-BUT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD SHOULDN'T YOU BE CATCHING REAL CRIMINALS .Was telling a bloke at work and he was "done" on the same stretch of road last year, and he, like me, cos of where the road is ,ie country lane in the middle of nowhere, thought at least it was a 40 .

bad luck buddy, but its very typical the way you were caught out. It really isnt accounting for a momentery lapse of speed. Your previous record should have helped you here, but as ever the road traffic police dont care about catching "real criminals" because their job is to catch speeders, and other bad road users. Im all for the police like you, but there is too much in justice going on right now that its hard to keep smiling...

... luckily all they had damaged was their own car and their own overinflated opnion of how good they can drive in the 'souped up' Clio, but had someone been walking, cycling, riding a motorbike or driving toward them there would have been a serious incident. Speeding does kill people and it does ruin lives. Anecdote ends. Alan |

And despite massive speed camera switch off, accident/injury rate continues to decline. Far more accidents/injuries/deaths caused by drunk drivers, foreign lorry drivers, tw@ts riding horses on the road etc.., which is where police resources should be targetted - not at people doing 37 in a 30 in the middle of nowhere. Don't take my word for it. The numbers are freely available in the public domain and pretty much destroy this 'speed kills' stuff. Yes it does, but only in a very small miniority of cases, and when there are quicker/better fixes thats where the resources should go. |

Speed camera s are like gun laws.
They make no difference to dedicated saxo/clio baseball capped spotty oiks who've over streched their tyres and ability. Similarly your gun totting drug crazed psyhco will hardly be concerned about not having a license for his AK47 |

don't forget, if you are in a T2 commercial or a Navara you can only do 50 on a single track national speed limit road, not 60 as you can in a car! The police round this way are picking people up for this now!
