Access to land

Sorry cant find the thread from a couple of days back so heres a new one..................

Out with the dogs yeaterday, new sign apeared on what used to be a public area.

Looks like the sell off is kicking in all over !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing Ive set off wondering , I know off road bikers, 4x4ers , mountain bikers and walkers sometimes come to blows but surely this is one issue where we should all be working together on

is there anything going on any united action groups forming up

trust me if they go for bits of land like this we're fcukd

can they do anything to you if you ignore sign?,tresspass aint criminal unless you cause damage or have a weapon like air rifle with you so walking your dog shouldnt matter? always said religion was sick this proves it even gods ill and in need of a hospital??
we used to have a mod,cammeraman who did all the rights of way stuff but he left

They've stuffed up anyway.


They've put up 5 signs all facing one direction (ones been trashed already).

Therefore , as we did, its very possible to go into that area from a different direction on a proper path and not see a sign.

So no way , at the moment anyway, they can enforce it. Im sure the trustees of a charity would have something to say if they did spend a lot enforcing it.

I just cant see what they hope to achieve by taking it over

it all started with the 'inclosure acts' (mostly 1750 -1860) and went downhill from there. From my point of view, mountain bikers, ramblers and 4x4 users fighting for access to land is more than a little ironic

yeagh but its not criminal an i doubt your local police are gonna come unless it is kids on bikes etc!

1) Public access is maintained and enhanced;
2) Public rights of way and access land are properly managed;
3) No sale or transfer is completed until the purchaser has committed to preserving and maintaining access;
4) Where access is currently not secured in law, this is remedied through CROW Act dedication;
5) The local community is consulted and given the opportunity to play a full and active part in woodland management, including first-refusal on purchase.

seems too sensible to be true

them lot near us have trounced every one of those points.

'seems' is the word, first you would need a working definition of their view of 'public' and 'access'. The argument for peoples right to access the country side? It's about 500 years too late for that

i thought (no exspert mind!) you could goonto unfenced land so long as u cause no nuisence or damage?

Not sure about that but I do know that whilst you may not remain on land once youre aware its private nor enter it (like that sign) if theres nothing to tell you or indicate its private its incredibly difficult to make any action stick.
