Default Rip Off Fuel Stations

Hi All,

starting this thread for Lauriash, who sent me this email to copy into this thread, see what you think:

So if you buy from Tesco, Morrison's, or Asda because they are cheapest who supplies their fuel?

A bit hypocritical to have such things on a 4x4 forum.
There are plenty of vehicles out there that will do 50mpg rather than the probable 25mpg average of a 4x4. (yes some do more, but some cars do more than 50mpg too)
It would make much more sense if everyone went out and bought one of those vehicles that do better mpg, effectively halving the price of fuel!

its not hypocritical at all!!!
the email is about the price of fuel and how we are all getting ripped off even if we have a car that does 100mpg, we are still paying through the nose for that litre of fuel!!!

it is not just the fuel companies, its also the goverment that the majority of people through time has voted in at various points in history.

the tax on fuel is astronomical!!!

i say, revolt!

REVOLUTION IS ON THE CARDS IN MY HOUSEHOLD!

comes out above average just as I'd expect.....we pay motorway prices most of the time in this neck of the woods....funny how we are only a few miles from the bloody refinery relative to the rest of the UK!

There's no way any boycott of BP or Esso or who ever will work. There's just too many people over the preverbial barrel who simply have to fill up to get work done to get paid to pay mortgage etc etc.
Any one day ban is just delays your next fill up
I think a more home brew method is required, like alternative fuels
I was talking to the guy I get my bio from and he said there's more and more oil burners going bio and it's getting really hard to find enough chip fat
Two friends locally are now sourcing used oil to start making bio commercially They plan to sell in smaller containers too making it easier for town folk to stor the stuff
Local LPG converter has just taken on another fitter too
I'm still amazed at few on here use veggy or bio I'm saving 53p a litre at the mo, it's a no brainer surely

For me Pete, seriously, its just a fear of the witches homebrew these people use compared to a proper chemical process.....If your truck is still working in a few months time and your fuel seals havent dissolved I will be seriously encouraged....but like you say, with bus companies and so on jumping on the bandwagon the supply of WVO for the smaller processors is drying up fast, so I'd say enjoy it while you can....
